The European Directory of Judicial Officers was created within the framework of the EEJ-Net project (Enforcement in Europe, 2010-2012) and expanded within the framework of the FAB 2 project (Find a Bailiff 2, 2017-2018), co-financed by the European Commission.
The main objective of the FAB III project (2020-2022) was to consolidate the FAB directory. The FAB III consortium included 8 new countries during the project:

1. Portugal
2. Latvia
3. Estonia
4. Lithuania
5. The Netherlands
6. Czech Republic
7. Hungary
8. Greece (integration started in the previous FAB II project).

With the addition of the contact details of the bailiffs of these new Member States, the FAB directory is consolidated and provides useful information to users who are looking for an enforcement authority in a foreign Member State. In doing so, the project has significantly contributed to increasing the overall efficiency of cross-border legal proceedings and has facilitated access to justice for European citizens.
