Learning European Law, a priority for the bailiff.
After the success of the first edition of the project dedicated to the training of court staffs and bailiffs, the European Commission has accorded a grant to the second edition of « European Judicial Training for Court Staff and Bailiffs 2 »*.
New sessions of traning until February 2019
The activities of blended-learning (online and face-to-face training) have started late 2017 and will continue until February 2018:
- Study visits in Dijon, Luxembourg and Bucharest organized by European training partners.
- Training in English law terminology and European regulations, provided by EIPA.
- New training modules, online, on the EJL website.
During this project, several European bailiffs attended trainings for which we have received very positive feedbacks.
- Melissa NUNGE, bailiff in Chelles (FR), attended trainings in Luxembourg and Bucharest. She said that the training “allowed her to practice legal English again and has strengthened her desire to participate in European and international cooperation missions”. Furthermore, she notes that this training proved to be really useful to her seeing that it “allowed her to familiarize herself with European procedures concerning both the taking of title (small claims procedure) and enforcement when we are in the presence of cross-border disputes “.
- Lionel DECOTTE, bailiff in Mornant (FR), also attended two trainings. He noticed that “the mix of court staff and bailiffs makes it possible to discover the concerns and difficulties of each of them in their respective Member States”
New e-learning modules soon to be available
Concerning the new online modules, new classes will be available very soon on EU regulations. Moreover, new modules on EU forms will be accessible on the EJL platform in order to facilitate the use and understanding of these documents. The content that will soon be available has been drafted by a group of experts chaired by Pr. Arnaud Raynouard (University Paris-Dauphine) and coordinated by the CEHJ.
Finally, and also on our EJL platform, new videos on the English legal terminology will be uploaded. All of this work should be online during before the end of September. While waiting, don’t hesitate to consult our existing training content available on the http://www.europe-ejl.eu/ website.
